Foundation underpinning

Foundation repair, underpinning, and foundation crack repair are problems for many homes today.

Lateral pressure can cause your foundation walls to crack and bow inward. Additionally, unstable soil conditions lead to your home settling into the ground.

Foundation underpinning offers several methods to repairing settlement. Concrete resistance piering or underpinning can be used to stabilize your foundation from sinking further into the ground.

Concrete underpinning is used in heavier structure for stabilization. A hollow caisson is driven into the ground and filled with concrete to support the structure. This method offers more strength than helical underpinning. Concrete underpinning, however, does not offer the ability to lift the structure in anyway.

We offer structural engineered methods of underpinning.

Hydrostatic pressure problems

Did you know, that...

Hydrostatic pressure problems

Many homeowners prefer their downspouts extending a minimum of 8 feet in order for the discharging water coming off of your roof far enough away from the house and its surroundings.

It is a common instinct to drain downspouts into the footing tile system around the house. Having the water from the roof drain down next to the footings can add to hydrostatic pressure problems, especially if the footing tile is leaking or blocked. This can occur over time due to soil movement or damage from tree roots.
